Purpose
The Selawik Refuge was established to conserve the Western Arctic caribou herd, waterfowl, shorebirds, other migratory birds, salmon, and sheefish to provide for continued subsistence uses to fulfill treaty obligations and to ensure necessary water quality and quantity.
